“COTTON CLASSIC” WEST COAST SPRINT FINALE AT KINGS

Danny Faria Jr. hopes to put the lid on a 2013 USAC West Coast Sprint Car title Saturday in the “Cotton Classic” series points finale at Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif.

Faria has posted two wins, a second, a third and a fourth in five Hanford outings this season. He leads Richard Vander Weerd, who has a won, a second and a third at Kings this year, by 57 points in the standings.

Bud Kaeding, third in the latest points, has a pair of seconds, a third and a fourth so far this year at Kings, while Ryan Bernal, fourth in the standings, also has a 2013 Kings victory to his credit.

Troy Rutherford also has a Kings victory, but the focus Saturday will certainly be on Faria and his drive to the title. Faria’s dominance in recent races has resulted in a six-race string of three wins and three seconds!
