OVER 200 CARS COMPETE IN COLUMBUS INDOOR WINTER NATIONALS

 


The opening event of the 2011 Midwest Thunder Series drew a field of over 200 cars to the O’Neill Exposition Center in Columbus, Ohio last weekend for the 54th Annual Columbus Indoor Winter Nationals. Competition took place in 17 classifications, with winners coming from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and even Georgia.


 


Winners included Logan McPherson of Bellfontaine, OH (Heavy AA), Tyler Reeser of Orwigsburg, PA (Light AA, Light 160 and Light World Formula), Frankie Nervo of Stow, OH (B), Kyle Lee of Mercersburg, PA (Mod), Ross Rankine of Willard, OH (Heavy World Formula), Hayden Sprague of Livonia, MI (Junior Stock and Junior Animal), Jacob Stickle of Xenia, OH (Unrestricted Animal), Austin Nemire of Toledo, OH (Senior Honda and Senior Animal), Cayden Lapcevich of Grinsby, OH (Heavy 160), Treyten Lapcevich of Grinsby, OH (Junior Honda), Stevie Brannon of Cumming, GA (Heavy Honda), Austin Stone of Johnstown, OH (Senior Rookie) and Grant Valkner of Kalamazoo, MI (Junior Rookie).


 


The Midwest Thunder Series continues with events May 21-22 in West Liberty, Ohio, May 28-29 in Toledo, Ohio, June 11-12 in Xenia, Ohio, June 25-26 in Whiteland, Ind., July 2-3 in Kokomo, Ind., August 13-14 in Kalamazoo, Mich. and September 17-18 at Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway.
