INAUGURAL USAC EASTERN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS

SCHEDULED TO BE STREAMED LIVE FROM TAMPA THIS WEEKEND
Stars of this weekend's inaugural USAC Eastern District .25 Midget Championships in Tampa, Fla. are expected to receive additional exposure from the scheduled live video streaming of the event on USAC's website, www.usacracing.com. The live video feed will start just after lunch at around 12:30 pm.
 
Competition in 18 different classifications is scheduled on the track at the Ambassador Racing School on Speedway Drive south of Tampa. Practice begins at 10 am on Friday. Racing gets under way Saturday, following morning practice and qualifying. Heat races of 15 laps each will be followed by lower Mains and opening ceremonies, then the A-Mains. Sunday's calendar offers 12-lap heats, again followed by opening ceremonies, lower Mains and A-Mains.
 
Defending TBQMRA Champions Michael Atwell of St. Petersburg, Fla. (Junior Honda and Light GX 160) and Teddy Lively of Tampa (Sr. Honda) are among pre-entries for this weekend's races.
 
Tampa native Dave Steele, one of USAC's most versatile and accomplished drivers, will serve as Sunday's Grand Marshal.
 
This week's event marks the debut of USAC District Championship competition in its brand new .25 Midget Series and competitors from the Midwest and Southeast are among pre-entries expected to be in attendance.
