Why does the winner if under age need to give up the award.  They could allow for the award to be redeemed with 1 year of becoming of the proper age.  That way the child still keep sthe award and can redeem at a later date.  That seems more reasonable to me.

I would venture to say it's because an actual team is providing the opportunity and committing to something up to a year down the road wouldn't be convenient for them.

My thought on this is if your kid is to young to run a ford focus or a focus young gun then you could explain that to he/she and if you are lucky enough to win at the brickyard you and your driver could cherish that because those wins are hard to get.

I understand that it may not seem fair to some but i think usac is trying to do something nice for the kids who are of age and give the younger ones something to look forward to when they get older.

Me and my son would just be happy to be there with all the great people in this sport and hopefully we make it there this year.

If there is a way to work it out and if someone who wins it is too young for the focus I would be willing to swap for a ride in our 600. One of the tracks in IN lets the kids run restricted at 9 and the other 2 10.
