The Vega tires still seem to have a strangle hold on a lot of the QMA tracks around.  We plan to test using Hoosiers for Junior Honda at our QMA track during practice sessions.  Has anyone else done this with success?  Should we start with a40 or a35s?  Any thoughts or suggestions from the more experienced members on here?

Is the track asphalt or concrete? I feel we had better luck running against the vega using a35's on all concrete and the a40's on the asphalt with concrete corners. The a35 is pretty close to the same setup as the vega. The a40's we usually tightened the car slightly on entry with a stiffer right front spring.

The track is asphalt.  Thanks for the information!

How are the times with vega tire over the hoosier tire. I was thinking abut trying hoosiers at the winter nationals at ncqma at the end of the month.

We have been able to duplicate the times of the vega's. We ran half of a practice session on the vega's and pulled the car in and slapped on the a35's and ran identical times under the same conditions. The a40's will do the same times just a lot later in the race. If the race stays green you will be much faster at the end.

We started to test the Hoosiers at Metro Atlanta QM, a few months ago and ran them last few races. They come in very quick and we were able to run down Vega cars passing. They last longer, we have found that they work better if heat cycled. Our track meets tonight to decide to go to USAC instead of QMA next year

Can't wait to hear the results of that meeting.  Would be awesome to have another USAC track here in the southeast. Keep us posted.
