with the upcoming races in perris, ventura, and hanford within a week, usac should label it focus week. there doesn't really need to be any additional money involved, but a trophy and the title of focus week champion would be cool. any thoughts?

during the ventura fair race last year, the three championship leaders went to the back for some extra cash. the one who got the furthest foreward won. maybe if sean and brody are up for it, it can be done again. we could pass a hat through the grandstands and have naylor talk it up like last year. we were able to come away with $500 last year thanks to kevin kierce, cory kruseman, sean bowman, and others. it adds something extra for the fans to get excited about.

just some thoughts i had...think about it

“CALIFORNIA FORD FOCUS WEEK” DEBUTS AT PERRIS SATURDAY

The next three races on USAC’s California Dirt Ford Focus and Junior Ford Focus calendars will comprise a series-within-a-series, titled “California Ford Focus Week,” presented by Hoosier Tire West and Fresno Discount Trophy.

Saturday night’s kickoff is at Perris Auto Speedway, while round two occurs next Wednesday, August 5, at Ventura Raceway. The finale is set for Saturday night, August 8, at Kings Speedway in Hanford.

The top five finishers in “California Ford Focus Week” points from each series will receive distinctive awards.

Brody Roa of Buena Park, Calif. and Kyle Edwards of Fountain Valley, Calif. lead their respective series into the three-race program. Roa, who has no finishes worse than seventh in seven series starts to date, has a 21-point lead in the California Dirt Ford Focus series, while Edwards, with five podium finishes already this season, enjoys an 81-point lead in the Junior Focus series.

The Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Cars share Saturday night’s program at Perris."

Should be a fun week, hope everybody can make it, I know jake and Chris are scrambling to get a replacement motor for the wounded anchor in the car now. See you all in Ventura.
