Chad...

Since this is not an official USAC show...can you get them to make ONE 120 class and ONE 160 class?  This is what Larry does for the unsanctioned dirt races at Putnam and Eldora.  When we race on the cart track (yes folks, on the BIG cart track) last Oct, he just made a 120 class and a 160 class.  Did the same at Putnam last year.  It works out very well!  Just set the weights in the middle somewhere between Sr. and Hvy.  That allows the Heavy kids to be competitive...especially if they can pull some weight out of the cars.  The Sr. kids just have to bolt in a few pounds.

In the past they set the weight at 300# for 120 and 310# for 160.   But being an outlaw show, you could set them all at 300#, or 120 at 295 and 160 at 305?  Just some thoughts.

We absolutely want to come race this show...we love dirt and will race any dirt show we can find.  But Austin is 335# in his cars...with no weight added!  This puts us 60# plus too heavy for Sr. classes.  But if you pick a weight in the middle...it cuts that in half and on dirt...sometimes works out fine.

Think about this and see what you can do...it will help bump up car count if the lights kids and heavy kids can show up and run one class and have competitive racing.

Let us know what you can do...if they will do something like this...we will be there.

Brad
If we get enough heavys they will split them up. If not, we talked about having the lights add weight so they can run together. They are expecting a lot of Karts and from the sound of it a lot of .25 midgets as well. We havent set a weight as of yet. We have to see what we get for cars. This is going to be a trial and error for the quarter midgets. If we have a good showing we will be back with more classes or possible our own show.

Does anyone have interest in a future Briggs class or classes?  We can run Animal and / or WF.  We have borrowed a 160 for the first race.  We ran Sandusky several times this year in an unrestricted Animal at an eleven split.  It was fast and fun.  My son would prefer run on dirt every race, if we could.  We're very excited about running at BMI.

It's in Versailles, Ohio, not too far from Eldora.  West Northwest of Piqua about 15 to 20 miles.  The track is easy to find on the East end of downtown.

We tested on this track today. Let me just say it is amazing.18 degree banking. Very smooth, and tacky track. Two grooves plenty of room to pass. Looking forward to November 5th. Please spread the word. If you have any questions regarding this race feel free to call me

This is the best track and facility we’ve ever been to.  The track was perfect all day.  The cars could run anywhere on the track.  This is a place you have to race at.  The whole experience is something special.  Complementing the track are video games, pinball machines, a pool table, soon to be completed food service area and spotless restrooms.  We’ll run BMI every race we can.  You won’t be disappointed, it’s a great track.

One thing to add if you plan on racing this event you must have numbers on your cars on the tail cone and the nose of the cars. They do not provde paper numbers that we are used to running.

Awesome track and an awesome day of racing! Extremely banked and fun track.  Good racing!  There were 3 Hvy Honda and 3 Sr Honda cars in session 1.  Dirt is a nice equalizer! Austin is 331# in his 120 car.   Took 3rd and 1st in the heats and 3rd in the feature.  Two of the top 3 were heavy cars.   There were 4 Lt 160 cars and 2 Hvy 160 cars in session 2.  Austin is 338# in his 160 car!  We were horrible in the heats ...pushing like a truck and finished 6th in each.  Got car much better for feature.  Ryan Barr had it won till he spun with 2 laps to go, poor kid...he was hooked up too!  Austin restarted with the lead, led at the white...but slipped a little in turn 1 and Jacob Miner slipped by...we ended up 2nd.  At the scales Jacob was 66# lighter than us!  Still ended up 2nd...not bad running with the light 160s.  I think the weight can help a little on dirt if the car is right and the driver has a feel for the dirt.

Overall...I wish we could race there every weekend!  Beautifully smooth high banked dirt track...indoor! Nice facility overall.  Could be a great Dirt Nationals venue...but parking could be a problem.

Miami Valley and Mac-o-chee are holding races there in Jan and March.  If the weather is good...we will be there! If you are in OH, MI, IN...come out and race dirt in the winter.

I have in car video and infield shot video.  I will post to You tube after I edit it some.

It was a great race!  Sadly we could only make it to the second session.  Jarrett can’t wait to return.  Congratulations to Jacob.  The track was perfect.   Hopefully BMI will add more quarter midget dates.
