Quarter Midgets make highly anticipated return to Cerro Gordo Speedway this Friday night


(Cerro Gordo, Illinois) The Quarter Midgets make their return to the Cerro Gordo Speedway this Friday night. For the first time in the tracks history it will host a Quarter Midget Series that will consist of three visits to the track. The Hoosier Tire/Afco Shocks Summer Shootout Series will have its first points night this Friday night. The Quarter Midgets will be battling it out for a trophy and a Hoosier Tire Feature winner sticker. The top 3 in each class will be entered into a drawing. Two lucky winners each night will win a Shock/Spring package provided by Afco. There will be other give aways such as Hoosier and Afco hats, Afco Shirts, Stickers, Joe Gibbs Driven Oil, R2C Pro Series Filters, and more. Some of the awards up for grabs in the final points standings are trophies, Hoosier Tires, Hoosier Champions Jackets, Afco Shocks, and Springs, Hats, Gift Cards and much more. Cerro Gordo Speedway as part of there commitment to bring back the Quarter Midgets will not require any entry fees for any of the events that the Speedway will host. The only requirement will be anyone who enters the pits must have a pit pass. The grandstands are free so this can allow teams to bring families and friends to come enjoy a great night of racing. All classes of Quarter Midgets will be on the schedule. The Hoosier Tire/ Afco Shocks Summer Shootout Series will be a unsanctioned series. All three races will be held at the Cerro Gordo Speedway. The series will follow all rules and requirements followed by QMA. A Hoosier tire rule will be in place for this great series. Cerro Gordo Speedway is located on the Piatt County Fairgrounds in Cerro Gordo, Illinois. Gates open at 4pm, hotlaps at 6:30 and racing around 7. Quarter Quarter Midgets test and tune this Friday for head start on the Hoosier Tire/Afco Shock Summer Series at Cerro Gordo Speedway

This week the Quarter Midgets are welcome to test and tune as they will be set to start their Hoosier Tire/Afco Shocks Summer Series next week. The Quarter Midget Summer Shootout Series will consist of three points nights and 3 practice nights. The first points night will be next Friday 5/24 as all divisions will be racing for a nightly trophy, Hoosier Tire hats, feature winner stickers and a chance to win a Afco Spring/Shock packages. For more info on the Summer Shootout Series please contact brucedulgar@comcast.net The Mothers Day Special that is sponsored by 1 Sharp Image and Flora Gems which was scheduled for last week, will be this week. We have hair and nail packages, gift certificates for products and services, driver apparel, and the grand prize of almost a quarter karat diamond pendant necklace. All Mothers can enter the drawing free of charge by just dropping their name in a bucket and names will be drawn all night long. The Kids Club will make their first event this Friday night as well. The kids club is free and the kids have an opportunity to play games, sports, arts and crafts, and receive candy and prizes. The grandstands are free at the Cerro Gordo Speedway so bring the Moms and kids out for a special family fun night. Gates open at 4pm, hot laps around 6:30, and racing starts around 7.
