Quarter Quarter Midgets test and tune this Friday for head start on the Hoosier Tire/Afco Shock Summer Series at Cerro Gordo Speedway
This week the Quarter Midgets are welcome to test and tune as they will be set to start their Hoosier Tire/Afco Shocks Summer Series next week. The Quarter Midget Summer Shootout Series will consist of three points nights and 3 practice nights. The first points night will be next Friday 5/24 as all divisions will be racing for a nightly trophy, Hoosier Tire hats, feature winner stickers and a chance to win a Afco Spring/Shock packages. For more info on the Summer Shootout Series please contact brucedulgar@comcast.net The Mothers Day Special that is sponsored by 1 Sharp Image and Flora Gems which was scheduled for last week, will be this week. We have hair and nail packages, gift certificates for products and services, driver apparel, and the grand prize of almost a quarter karat diamond pendant necklace. All Mothers can enter the drawing free of charge by just dropping their name in a bucket and names will be drawn all night long. The Kids Club will make their first event this Friday night as well. The kids club is free and the kids have an opportunity to play games, sports, arts and crafts, and receive candy and prizes. The grandstands are free at the Cerro Gordo Speedway so bring the Moms and kids out for a special family fun night. Gates open at 4pm, hot laps around 6:30, and racing starts around 7. Rains postpones Quarter Midget and Mothers Day Special at Cerro Gordo Speedway
With heavy rain moving threw on Thursday on top of our already saturated ground, we will not be racing this Friday night at the Cerro Gordo Speedway. Just as things were drying out nicely, and warmer temperatures finally breaking threw the rains were just to heavy for us to work with and get the grounds ready. The Quarter Midgets portion of the night will be moved to Friday May 24th. We will also add a practice night next Friday night for any teams that would like to test and tune there cars. May 24th will be the first points race in the Hoosier/Afco Summer Series Shootout. All details of the race will remain the same as every class will be racing for a trophy, feature winner sticker, Hoosier Champions hat, and a chance to win one of two Afco spring and shock packages. The give aways for the Mothers from 1 Sharp Image, Papa Murphys, Pastabilites, and Flora Gems will be moved to Friday May 17th. Slots of Fun will still offer mothers free slot car racing for the night as well. All the same prizes will be up for grabs as mothers will have a chance to win hair and nail gift certificates, facials, gift certificates, and the grand prize of almost a quarter karat Diamond pendant necklace. Cerro Gordo Speedway would like to wish all mothers a very special Mothers Day. We look forward to seeing the mothers and everyone next week. We will be having our full weekly show, Quarter Midget practice, plus our first Kids Club event. Kids can come play games, make arts and crafts, and best of all get candy and a coupon for a FREE pizza. All events are free in the kids club.
