Title: Topic Removed
Post by: Kevin on March 23, 2009, 03:42:44 AM
For those that know me you understand I want a transparent organization that listens and addresses concerns of our competitors. Thus it is not my practice to remove or edit posts on our forum from legitimate users. However, after a great weekend of racing I received numerous emails on the negativity brought on by a recent post which was based on mistaken facts. I removed that thread tonight as I felt that negatvity was not needed for our fellow members and to ensure our stated facts are clear and not misinterpreted. Please understand I do not make a habit of screening your discussions. This one however crossed lines that we feel do not need to be touched on. Please feel free to contact James or myself for questions or clarifications of any issues. Thanks foe understanding

Kevin,
I am not familiar with the topic that was removed but I wanted to use this forum to say what a great job you/Usac did this past weekend in tampa. professionalism all the way. Yes there were some inconsistancies and gliches in the begining but they were addressed in most part by Sunday. These are things I believe are to be expected for a first time history making event. Fantastic job done by the Usac crew and anyone waiting to hold a national event it will be awsome. Great job!!

I second what Chad said.  Saturday there were some things that needed improvement and for the most part, those were adjusted for Sunday.  Glad USAC is willing to listen and tweak things to make their format work for an "all kids" racing division.  At the same time us racing families will also have to be flexible and learn to run a different format than we are used to.

Good job to everyone involved in organizing and executing this event!  We are looking forward to running in Indy in a few months!

I read the original post before it was removed and I understand why the decision was made to remove it, I think that this was an appropriate decision as it was very much contrary to what the .25 series is trying to promote.  I would like to commend USAC for the wonderful weekend that they put together for the kids and parents.  Just a couple of comments, first having the opportunity to work with all the USAC staff (Kevin, James, Rick, Dave, Jeff, and all the scorers) was truly a great pleasure, the staff are very profesional and did everything they could to work together to insure that all the kids had a great time and raced in an environment which was SAFE and as fair as possible.
(THAT is the main goal, MAKE SURE ALL THE KIDS HAVE FUN AND ARE SAFE AS POSSIBLE!!!)
Secondly, I really was impressed with the desire of the USAC folks to encourage and listen to constructive criticism.  After the first day there were some concerns and the entire staff was more than willing to stay around for more than (2 hours) listening to input and looking for solutions, what a great thing to see. As we all know no racing rpogram at any level will be perfect and there will always be disagreements about how to handle certain aspects, but based upon the things I saw this weekend if USAC continues to do what it did this weekend the .25 series will be about as good as any can be.  I ecourage any track who hasn't already done so to at least take a look at what USAC is doing here and consider getting on-board.  Thanks again folks I really enjoyed working with you this weekend, (I KNOW THE KIDS A GREAT TIME!!!)

It is ashame when topics get over taken by two people who basically fight back and forth.  The bad part is it was completely off topic.  I'm not a fan of deleting posts/topics but it needed to be done to keep the board family oriented.

Anyway I hope everyone had a good time this past weekend and although I'm disappointed with USAC and the racing weekend.  The kids had fun and are already looking forward to the next race.  Regardless whether your USAC, world formula team or the newest rookie team everyone put alot of time, effort and money into this weekend and for some it was a great weekend and others it wasnt.  Everyone needs to take it for what it was.  As a team we'll talk about it and probably agree, disagree and we'll be back on the track with QMA on 3/3 and USAC on 3/5.
