Title: Left Rear Shock Mounting....opinions please!
Post by: two_tenths_off on March 05, 2009, 09:23:00 PM
Sr. Honda, banked Concrete track.

Currently my LR Shock is mounted behind the rear axle as it was when we bought the car.

Nearly everyone else is running the LR Shock in front of the Axle. I am moving it in front
for lack of something better to do....

What is the difference? What does it tend to do - changing the shock location. What
effect should I anticipate?

Thanks

The best car we ever had had the shock mounted aft of the axle. The main things that mounting it inboard, ahead of the axle does is lets you move the wheel in more as the driver gets bigger and they don't tend to get knocked off as much. It does have some impact on spring rate and valving but it is small.
