Title: SPEC Engine for USAC Sprint Cars?
Post by: afraptor1 on November 11, 2008, 08:26:43 PM
I just saw this at my local tracks website.  I didn't know USAC was looking into a Spec motor for the Sprints.  I didn't see anything on the USAC website either.  Did I miss it?  How long has this been considered?  Is it for just pavement cars?  Will it be for Regional or will it be for Nationals?

Go to these links to see the test and hear about the engine:

What do you guys think?

I don't believe this is a change, simply a lower cost option for sprint car teams who may not be able to afford a Kistler or Ott and so on.

Interesting that you don't see Tommy Hunt in that video.  I wonder if this has anything to do with USAC or if it has more to do with SLVRA?
