Title: Trailer Organization Tips Post by: sfreitas20 on December 29, 2009, 11:18:24 PM So there are shock racks, tire racks, gas can holders, gear racks...etc, but has anyone found an effective way to store loose wheels in their trailer besides just putting them in a cabinet. Does anyone sell or has anyone created some kind of cool rack or storage for the spares wheels? At this point we just stack them on the floor in the little closet, but because of the varying sizes it just isn't pretty and every now and then you open the door and out comes a bunch of wheels.

Title: Re: Trailer Organization Tips Post by: heimboyz89 on December 30, 2009, 11:14:34 AM Kind of hard to explain but I tooks some .050 aluminum 7.750 wide for the 6" wheels and 6.750 for the 5" by whatever length and bent 1/2" flanges on each side to 135 degrees. I riveted them to the ceiling of the trailer and the rims slide in from the end. All wheels are a little different so if you have a variety this may not work for you. You can drop me an e-mail and I can take some pictures this weekend and send them to you.

Extra wheels, varying sizes for when we need to change tire sizes...etc...etc...etc... Title: Re: Trailer Organization Tips Post by: CrewChief6 on December 30, 2009, 04:01:34 PM Get a 1 or 1-1/4 inch pvc pipe and connect it to a pvc or metal flange you bolt into the floor. You'll need an adapter to be able to screw the pipe into the flange. You can toss the rims on there and stack vertically.

Go get yourself some pegboard from Lowes or Home Depot and use that. Buy a bunch of hooks and hang everything up. Been using it for 10 years now.
Title: Re: Trailer Organization Tips Post by: Torgesen Motorsports on March 08, 2011, 10:41:45 PM I made my own shock racks. used 1" alum. square tube. drilled holes for some allen head bolts put them through from the backside with wheel nuts on front. I use rubber o- rings to hold shocks on to bolts. Works with or without springs on them. Looks as good as any you can buy and I was able to make them for the number of shocks I wanted and to fit in the location I wanted in my trailer. Cost around $15 to hang 8 shocks.
