Title: USAC track in the NE
Post by: Mrneg on July 29, 2009, 02:31:05 PM
QMA is totally out of control. I would love to start racing USAC events but current club locations make the travel cost prohibitive. Is there anything in the works for a USAC sanctioned club in the North East? Is there anything I can do to help move this along? One problem is that my region is the epicenter of the QMA national board, when I brought up a dual charter with USAC at a club meeting I thought I was going to get thrown out door.

QMA region 2 needs USAC now!

Is there a Kart track in your neck of the woods? If so, go talk to them, see if you can work somthing out, start a club, proclaim yourself king....er...president and start racing. I gotta say after racing on that trac at Belview I don't know why we hadn't done it sooner. It doesn't look like USAC is going to have all the control issues that QMA has gumming up the works.

I wish the dirt kart track a couple miles from my house wasn't 1/5 of a mile or I would go talk to them about running .25s there.  I would love to get AJ racing on dirt around here.

Freitas, you referring to www.dirtdevils.com ?

If so, you can always pickup a cheap kart to just practice and have fun in, thats what we plan on doing this winter.  ;-)

That is the place.

You know I actualy have a kart chassis in the garage we bought just for that.  I just haven't ever found the time or resources ($$$) to put it all together since AJ started racing. ;)

Talk to the track owner / promoter. They might be willing to cut a set of corners into the infield or something if it will give them more cla$$e$ and entrie$ to run.

Yea, time and money do seem to diminish quite rapidly when you start racing QM's.

They say the only way to end up with a "small" fortune in racing is to start out with a "large" one....
