Title: Hoosier 34.5 6.5 6 Circumference on 8.5 inch wheels
Post by: two_tenths_off on June 15, 2009, 11:47:57 AM
I was baffled a few weeks back when I mounted a 34.5 Hoosier on an 8.5 inch wheel and my circumference came out at 33.75.

As a test I purchased two more Hoosiers and went through my wheels and found two identical 8.5 inch wheels. I mounted the tires and they came out both right around 34". Is that what others are finding? To get a 34.5 or 35 do you need to mount on an 8" wheel?

Thanks!

Same issue here.

I have heard that mounting on an 8" wheel helps but I have not tried as I have a case of new 8.5" wheels left to use.  :-(

I have also found that the sizes are not consistant when mounting them.

For what it is worth...and please dont tell ssssmoke....I mount all my 6.5 tires on 8" wheels. I mount all 7.1 tires on 8.5" wheels.

Try an 8.5 wheel at 350 lbs. You can hear the rubber scream.

Deal Swartz...  Remeber, my offsets are slightly different from most because I get my RR wheels for 25.00 each and LR wheels for 19 each...  ;-)
