The IZOD IndyCar Series weekend at the Milwaukee Mile next season will include seven races involving every step the entire "road to Indy" ladder, promoter Chris McGrath said.
In addition to the 225-lap IndyCar main event, the schedule will include Firestone Indy Lights, Star Mazda and USF2000 -- all sanctioned by IndyCar -- and USAC sprints, midgets and quarter-midgets.
The quarter-midgets, which involve drivers as young as 4 1/2, won't run on the Mile, itself. A separate course will be built at a site to be determined, McGrath said Wednesday in an exchange of text messages.
The return of IndyCar after a one-year absence is scheduled for June 18-19. AB Promotions, which announced in September its plan to rent the Mile to put on the race, has begun selling tickets through its website.
