Title: Lapeceiver lap timing
Post by: Gazza on May 25, 2009, 07:19:55 AM
Is anyone using the lapceiver for viewing times for qualifying.
I have one and I'm struggling to get it running. Some QMA tracks
are using them. It is legal in USAC?

These would be great to have.  Some tracks I've been to have large timing boards.  This looks like an inexpensive alternative.

What problems are you having getting this running?

The key here is that the track needs to be using the transmitter. Basically, the transponder system picks up the car by the transponder then the scoring software sends that information to the transmitter which in turn broadcasts to the lapceiver. We use the Raceceiver transponder system in our Bandoleros along with the transmitter and lapceivers.

The AMB transponder system is the approved system in QMA, so I wouldn't expect too many QMA tracks to be using the Raceceiver system; however, if they are, make sure they are using the transmitter.

I hope that helps. If not, feel free to contact me and I will help in any way possible.
