JOHNSON 1ST IN ARIZONA SPEEDWAY’S “INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION”
Queen Creek, AZ……..USAC Southwest Sprint Car point leader R.J. Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz. provided the fireworks in Saturday night’s 30-lap “Independence Celebration” feature at Arizona Speedway, grabbing the win on the final lap! He passed Dennis Gile to record the victory over Gile, Charles Davis Jr., Matt Rossi and Tye Mihocko. Gile led the first 23 laps and Davis led the next five before Gile and Johnson bolted to the top on the final laps. Johnson wheeled the Kodiak Products/Beal’s Auto Body Sherman/Ford to the win, his fifth this year.
