USAC REGIONAL SERIES PREVIEW: APRIL 16-17, 2021

Four USAC Regional Sprint Car divisions, plus the USAC Western States Midgets are in action this Friday and Saturday, April 16-17, in the states of Pennsylvania, and Nebraska and California!

 

USAC RAPID TIRE EAST COAST SPRINT CARS: Friday, April 16 – Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pennsylvania)

Bedford, Pennsylvania………The Rapid Tire USAC East Sprint Cars make their third trip to Pennsylvania’s Bedford Speedway this Friday night, April 16.

Three-time and defending series champion Steven Drevicki (Reading, Pa.) won the inaugural series race at Bedford in 2018 while Eddie Strada captured the victory there in 2019.

Alex Bright (Collegeville, Pa.) won last week’s East Coast feature at Port Royal, Pa. and leads the standings coming into Bedford.  Briggs Danner (Allentown, Pa.) won the opener at Bridgeport, N.J. on April 3 and is second in the standings, just ahead of Drevicki in third.

Late Models, Semi Lates, Modifieds and Pure Stocks will also be in action.  Gates open at 5pm with hot laps at 7pm and racing at 7:30.  Adult tickets are $15 while kids 12 and under free.  Pit passes are $25 apiece.

USAC MIDWEST WINGLESS RACING ASSOCIATION / USAC WINGLESS SPRINTS OKLAHOMA: Saturday, April 17 – Jefferson County Speedway (Fairbury, Nebraska) – Non-Points Special Event

Fairbury, Nebraska………USAC’s Midwest Wingless Racing Association and Wingless Sprints Oklahoma series will duel at the 1/5-mile bullring of Fairbury, Nebraska’s Jefferson County Speedway this Saturday, April 17.

The events marks the season openers for both series, but the special will not pay points toward the season’s championship race.  Wyatt Burks (Topeka, Kans.) enters the season as the reigning MWRA champ while Ty Hulsey (Owasso, Okla.) notched the 2020 WSO title.

The 7th Annual Roy Cooley Memorial will feature Sprint Cars and the JayHusker Micro Sprints.  Pits open at Noon CT with grandstands opening at 2pm, drivers meeting at 3pm and racing at 4pm.

General admission tickets are $20 for adults, with high school students and younger just $5.  Kids age 5 and under are free.  All access pit passes are $30.  A bonfire pit party will be held at the track after the races and everyone is invited!

 

USAC WEST COAST SPRINT CARS: Saturday, April 17 – Thunderbowl Raceway (Tulare, California)

Tulare, California………The USAC West Coast Sprint Cars are back in action this Saturday, April 17th, at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California.

Promoted by Steve Faria, the second point race will also feature the USAC Western States Midgets for an exciting night of racing.

The front gates open at 4:00PM PT, hot laps are scheduled for 5:00PM, time trials at 6:00PM, and racing will start at 7:00PM. The event will follow COVID-19 protocols and face coverings are required for people on the grounds.

USAC WESTERN STATES MIDGETS: Saturday, April 17 – Thunderbowl Raceway (Tulare, California)

Tulare, California………This Saturday, April 17th, the USAC Western States Midgets will tackle the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California.

Promoted by Steve Faria, the lightning fast 1/3-mile oval will host the third round of competition along with the popular USAC West Coast Sprint Cars.

The front gates open at 4:00PM PT, hot laps are scheduled for 5:00PM, time trials at 6:00PM, and racing will start at 7:00PM. The event will follow COVID-19 protocols and face coverings are required for people on the grounds.
